THE BLACK WOMEN’S DEMOCRATIC CLUB ENDORSES ISAAC BRYAN FOR CALIFORNIA’S 54th ASSEMBLY DISTRICT IN UPCOMING SPECIAL ELECTION

The Black Women’s Democratic Club — the first and only statewide Black women’s Democratic Club in California — today endorsed Democrat Isaac Bryan for the vacant 54th Assembly seat. BWDC joins Congresswoman Karen Bass, Supervisor Holly Mitchell, Senator Sydney Kamlager, Black Caucus Chair Taisha Brown, former Kamala Harris Advisor Laphonza Butler, Culver City Councilwoman Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, Susan Burton and dozens of grassroots leaders in supporting Isaac Bryan, an educator and community organizer.

“To have the support of the only statewide Democratic Club in California founded, empowered, and led by Black women is humbling,” Bryan said. “Leaders like Congresswoman Bass, Supervisor Holly Mitchell, Senator Sydney Kamlager, the women of BWDC, and so many others have been my mentors and teachers. I feel the power of their collective faith in me to move progressive policy forward. And I am committed to true allyship with and accountability to these strong women leaders.”

Isaac Bryan was previously endorsed by SEIU California, California Teachers Association, AFSCME 148 — Public Defenders, Painters DC 36, Unite HERE! Local 11, ILWU Local 13, L.A. Councilmembers Nithya Raman, Mark Ridley-Thomas, Kevin de Leon, Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Mike Bonin, and Curren Price, Culver City Mayor Alex Fisch, and dozens of other local leaders, state legislators, and organizations.
